If I had a quarter for every time I wanted to change,
I’d have 25 excuses on why it hasn’t came.
And does that make any CENT?
If I had a dime for every time I wanted to change,
I’d have 10 additional reasons why I’ve remained the same.
And does that make any CENT?
If I had a nickel for every time I wanted to change,
That's 5 more complaints on why there lies so much restraint.
And here's why this doesn't make any CENT:
All it takes is a penny, because 1 change is plenty and that makes all the sense now.
My name is Erykah Gray, but most people know me as Miss Gray. I hail from the charming town of Centreville in Southern Mississippi. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and a Master of Arts in Literature from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Today, I’m a proud doctoral student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, because I believe that learning is a lifelong journey—and I’m passionate about being on that path. Teaching isn’t just what I do; it’s who I am. I love speaking, writing, and inspiring others to find their voice. Every day in my classroom, I strive to make learning exciting and meaningful while helping my students grow into confident, inspired thinkers ready to take on the world. Here, I plan to do the same.
