Mothers are a special gift from God. They show us love, patience, and care, just as God loves and cares for us. Because of their sacrifices and kindness, we should celebrate and thank them often.
When we honor our mothers, we also honor God, who gave us the gift of life and love through them.
Here’s a TEACHERble moment on the consecrated connection of God and mothers through poetic expression:
Our Father Who Art in Mothers
If you turn to the Book of Exodus, Chapter 20- Verse 12, these words you would see:
“Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.”
I began to think and wonder and wondered to think,
Has anyone ever paused to reflect on how God and a Mother are in sync?
Both are very forgiving.
Both are the reason why all of us are living.
We often say God knows best
But Mother does too,
They both have instructed us on the good we should do.
They love us beyond
They love us within.
When you need someone,
They are truly two of the greatest friends.
When we do wrong, God frowns.
And when we do wrong, we know Mom doesn’t play around.
She does not play, God does not play, and together
They do not play about us.
When we are lost and confused,
It is them who we trust.
God wants what’s best for his children
and a mother wants the same,
And we as children love to call on both of their names:
Mom, help me.
God, help me.
Mom, I need you,
God, I need you.
Bottom on the line,
We need them all the time.
Honor thy father.
Honor thy mother.
For they love like no other.
Amen.
A-mother.
