A TEACHERble Moment on Simple Things

Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

You’re expecting me to say writing, aren’t you? Well, if you called it, you’re WRITE. (That’s not the right word, is it?) I guess you see where I’m going with this one.

I have a fascination with writing. It is one of my absolute favorite things to do, and it grants me the greatest joy. There are endless possibilities for imagination and creativity with just a pen in hand.

Whether I’m crafting a blog post, a speech, composing a poem, or writing a paper, the flow of creativity and words feels wonderfully natural and alive in my mind, and that’s all right with me. (I got it right this time.)

I am truly grateful for the wonderful gift of writing; it fills me with joy to share this passion here, and I’m happy to be part of a community of writers and readers who celebrate this joy alongside me.

My name is Erykah Gray, but most people know me as Miss Gray. I hail from the charming town of Centreville in Southern Mississippi. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and a Master of Arts in Literature from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Today, I’m a proud doctoral student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, because I believe that learning is a lifelong journey—and I’m passionate about being on that path. Teaching isn’t just what I do; it’s who I am. I love speaking, writing, and inspiring others to find their voice.
