A TEACHERble Moment On Life Before the Internet

Do you remember life before the internet?

A simple life
Worth the catch
When Catfish
Was just a dish.
Life of R.eal I.ntelligence (RI).
The amount of likes
Did not matter.
Nor the comments
Or the status.
Traded outside
For online.
A life where TikTok
Only meant time.
When a Chat
Wasn’t snapped
Or GPT.
Cyberspace
Has erased
Almost every
Single place.
Dressing rooms
Unclothed.
Shopping carts
Once rolled.
Traded goggles
For Google.
Now what do you see?
Scrolling through feeds
Starving for the
Life before
The Internet.
A life where games
Were simple cards
Bikes were ridden
Knees were scarred.
Now cards are
Played on the Internet.
Characters ride bikes
On the latest apps.
Life before
The Internet
Made a grand entrance.
Somehow
We’ve lost
Connection
.

Life made much more sense. I’m happy to have an easier tool but sometimes it is a bit too much to maneuver. Nice work Miss Gray.

    1. The Internet, for me, is both a blessing and a burden. As long as we use it for good, I think it’s manageable. Though the nostalgia of a much simpler life before is heavenly present for me. Thank you kindly for your comment!🙏🏾✨
