    A TEACHERble Mississippi Moment

    A TEACHERble Mississippi Moment

Name an attraction or town close to home that you still haven’t got around to visiting. Did you know waterfalls run through Mississippi? They may not be Niagara Falls, but Mississippi’s waterfalls are still beautiful and so rare. One of the best examples is actually hidden in Woodville, Mississippi, the town next to mine, at the Clark… Continue reading

    A TEACHERble and Fun Moment

    A TEACHERble and Fun Moment

List five things you do for fun. I write because my thoughts get loudAnd they need somewhere soft to land.So I travel to remember the world is as bigAs the pencil in my hand. With my hands I cook with seasoned instinctFlavor from the soul And a little heat. The heat gets turned up a notch When… Continue reading

Today’s TEACHERble Moment: Happy Celebration of Life Day

Today’s TEACHERble Moment: Happy Celebration of Life Day

Today’s teacherble moment is one I actually want us to sit with for a minute. Today is Celebration of Life Day. It originally started as a day designed for celebrating all children, and over time, it grew into something more bigger and even more fitting I would say: A day to celebrate all life. Every stage, and every… Continue reading

    A TEACHERble Moment on Erykah

    A TEACHERble Moment on Erykah

Write about your first name: its meaning, significance, etymology, etc. Hi! Today’s lesson is on a name. My name. My first name is Erykah (AIR-uh-kuh). Yes, like the air we breathe. And it’s one of those names people don’t forget. Not because it’s flashy or anything, but because it feels intentional. Most people ask how to… Continue reading

A TEACHERble Moment: Teaching To Professoring

A TEACHERble Moment: Teaching To Professoring

What’s your dream job? Right now, I’m a teacher and a doctoral student, learning as much as I teach. I’m in my second semester, taking my fourth class, with two more to complete before the semester ends. Can you say intense? The pace is very demanding. However, ever how, it confirms where I’m headed, and… Continue reading

About Me

My name is Erykah Gray, though many know me as Miss Gray. I’m from Centreville, a small town in southern Mississippi that will always feel like home. I earned my bachelor’s degree in English at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and later completed a Master of Arts in Literature at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. I am now continuing my journey as a doctoral student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

I believe learning is a lifelong journey that continues to shape who we are. Teaching is not simply what I do; it is part of who I am. I am passionate about speaking, writing, and creating spaces where voices can be found and valued. In my classroom, each day holds new possibility as I guide students to grow into confident, curious thinkers ready to step into the world with purpose.

Through this space, I hope to share that same sense of inspiration beyond the classroom walls
