    What’s Your Teacherable Moment?

    What’s Your Teacherable Moment?

There’s something I’ve been thinking about lately: that we are all teachers. Teachers can stand outside of classrooms without degrees, lesson plans, and whiteboards. You teach others in the way you live, in the things you go through, and in what you learn. Every time life teaches you something and you think, “I wish I… Continue reading

    A Teacherble and Improvable Moment

    A Teacherble and Improvable Moment

What’s one small improvement you can make in your life? Growth writes in the marginsEvery error begets a lesson,And each wrong sharpens you.Learn to take your time despiteHow much you may revise and rewrite,Because progress is in what you do.Little changes day by day,Turn the old you into new. A TEACHERBLE Moment: 21 Years Later

A TEACHERBLE Moment: 21 Years Later

When you were five, what did you want to be when you grew up? I have stepped in and out of classrooms, met different teachers and settled into the rhythm of each lesson. In doing so, I started to understand how I was meant to teach. Around the age of five, I fell in love… Continue reading

Her TEACHERble Moments Led to Mine

Her TEACHERble Moments Led to Mine

Who was your most influential teacher? Why? Some teachers you forget. Miss D. is one I’ll never forget. She was my 12th grade Honors English teacher. She was funny, smart, and this made me pay attention. Miss Dawson had a way of pushing us. She would challenge us, call us out (in a good way),… Continue reading

A TEACHERble Moment: You Ever Got Lost in a Word?

A TEACHERble Moment: You Ever Got Lost in a Word?

What activities do you lose yourself in? You ever got lost in a word? Not the one you heardBut the one that stirredSomething quiet inside? You ever said “fine”When you meant don’t ask why?Said “later”When the truth was goodbye? How heavy is “sorry”When pride gets loud? How soft is “love”When it’s said in a crowd? And tell me this,Is “home”… Continue reading

About Me

My name is Erykah Gray, though many know me as Miss Gray. I’m from Centreville, a small town in southern Mississippi that will always feel like home. I earned my bachelor’s degree in English at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and later completed a Master of Arts in Literature at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. I am now continuing my journey as a doctoral student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

I believe learning is a lifelong journey that continues to shape who we are. Teaching is not simply what I do; it is part of who I am. I am passionate about speaking, writing, and creating spaces where voices can be found and valued. In my classroom, each day holds new possibility as I guide students to grow into confident, curious thinkers ready to step into the world with purpose.

Through this space, I hope to share that same sense of inspiration beyond the classroom walls
