A TEACHERble Moment: The Oldest Thing Worn

What’s the oldest things you’re wearing today?

Not a shirt
Or socks by the pair.
Not the style of my hair.
Not even jewelry.
But the oldest thing I wear is what lies inside of me.

It's the one thing that makes every part of me whole.
The oldest thing I wear is the thing I call my soul.

I have an old soul.
Far beyond my chronological age.
A sponge soul.
That has soaked up so much beyond my days.
My musical taste.
The things in which I say.
My perspective.
My emotional intelligence.

It's the one thing that makes every part of me whole.
The oldest thing I wear is the thing I call my soul.

Your words resonate deeply, capturing the timeless nature of the soul and its influence on our identity. Thank you for sharing such heartfelt poetry. 🙏💖
