A TEACHERble Moment: Cold Weather

How do you feel about cold weather?

I am from the warm and sunny southern state of Mississippi, where the letter “S” appears four times in its name, yet none of them stand for snow.

The South is blessed with far more hot days than cold ones, perfectly embodying our delightful southern charm.

Raised in this wonderful place, I have a surprising love for cold weather.

While snow may not grace us often, we were fortunate enough to witness a beautiful snowfall this year.

I captured a photo to cherish this moment, especially since the last time I saw snow here was back on December 8, 2017.

My name is Erykah Gray, but most people know me as Miss Gray. I hail from the charming town of Centreville in Southern Mississippi. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and a Master of Arts in Literature from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Today, I’m a proud doctoral student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, because I believe that learning is a lifelong journey—and I’m passionate about being on that path. Teaching isn’t just what I do; it’s who I am. I love speaking, writing, and inspiring others to find their voice.     That’s such a beautiful way to describe Mississippi winters. Rare snowfalls definitely feel extra special down here. Glad you got to enjoy it this year!
