What’s your favorite thing about yourself?

Not boast nor bravado’s mask
But a subtle symphony if you may ask,
It’s the vital proof of my excellence
My favorite thing, my confidence. 

Not arrogance nor vain display  
But a calm assurance in the things I say, 
The electricity in my eloquence
Comes powered by my confidence. 

Not vanity nor hollow pride 
But trust in what I hold inside,
At the heart and part of my existence
Is my favorite thing, my confidence.

      Unyielding.
Unstoppable.
      Unshakable.

      Revealing. 
Possible. 
      Capable.

My name is Erykah Gray, but most people know me as Miss Gray. I hail from the charming town of Centreville in Southern Mississippi. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and a Master of Arts in Literature from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Today, I’m a proud doctoral student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, because I believe that learning is a lifelong journey—and I’m passionate about being on that path. Teaching isn’t just what I do; it’s who I am. I love speaking, writing, and inspiring others to find their voice. Every day in my classroom, I strive to make learning exciting and meaningful while helping my students grow into confident, inspired thinkers ready to take on the world. Here, I plan to do the same.
