My name is Erykah Gray, but most people know me as Miss Gray. I hail from the charming town of Centreville in Southern Mississippi. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and a Master of Arts in Literature from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Today, I’m a proud doctoral student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, because I believe that learning is a lifelong journey—and I’m passionate about being on that path. Teaching isn’t just what I do; it’s who I am. I love speaking, writing, and inspiring others to find their voice. Every day in my classroom, I strive to make learning exciting and meaningful while helping my students grow into confident, inspired thinkers ready to take on the world. Here, I plan to do the same.
This piece resonated so deeply with me. The way you’ve captured the feeling of wanting to reconnect with your past self is both haunting and healing. I especially loved the metaphor of calling the ‘old me’ it’s such a gentle yet powerful reminder of how far we’ve come, and how important it is to honor every version of ourselves. Thank you so much for sharing!✨
