A TEACHERble Moment on September 11

It was once all plain and simple:

Planes were made for flying.

9/11 taught me otherwise.

Twin Towers identical,

Now unrecognizable.

Defenseless at The Pentagon

And Somber in Somerset County.

Somber in America.

But,

We will forever stand United.

We will never forget.

  1. I remember 9/11 because it was burned into my memory forever.
I remember waking up and tuning in to the morning news, there was live coverage onscreen of a hijacked passenger jet flying into one of the Twin Towers. Called my bishop and told him “Quick! Turn your TV on right now, you won’t believe what I’m seeing until you tune in to watch the horror of “9/11” as it unfolded, the nightmare that I and others witnessed on television that day changed forever how we live and how we see the world in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks in the United States.

    1. Wow. I can only imagine. Being only two at the time, my family has told me countless stories of the horror and unimaginable they witnessed, the fear and panic that would consume America and the entire world. As I’ve gotten older, I have learned so much from this day, about this day, and I grief with the families affected. I pray for all affected by this tragedy and ask that God will shield the world all our days to come. 🙏🏾❤️
