A TEACHERble Moment: Physical Exercise

What is your favorite form of physical exercise?

My favorite form 
Of physical exercise 
Is living. 

It takes a lot 
Of work in life
Long days
Longer nights
But it is all 
Good exercise. 

Burn away your calories 
Of negativity
And start living. 

Do not let weight 
Hold you down
Do not wait around 
For a makeshift diet
To get on track.

It takes work in life.

Sweat it out. 
Work it out.

The world is a gym
So use your membership
And stay consistent 
While you can.

You did not sign up for this,
You have felt the aches 
The burns I’m sure. 

But those are only gains.

You did not sign up for this,
But I am so happy
You did.
You are built 
For this exercise
Called living.

And let me just say: 
You are in great shape.

My name is Erykah Gray, but most people know me as Miss Gray. I’m from Centreville, a small town in southern Mississippi that I’m proud to call home. I earned my bachelor’s degree in English from The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and later completed a Master of Arts in Literature at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. I’m currently a doctoral student at the University of Louisiana at Monroe because I truly believe learning never stops. Teaching isn’t just what I do; it’s a part of who I am.
