Write your guide to setting healthy boundaries in relationships.
Relationships are easy to form,
but when you don’t set boundaries
they’re
so
easily
torn.
So when my bandage was ripped off,
I learned that love
without limits
will leave you worn
with such a cost.
Giving access to everyone
will slowly
change
your
peace,
turning what was once joy
into
constant release.
So I started drawing lines
in places I once bent
just to protect how
my beginnings should be spent
because a relationship will cost you.
Inflate you.
Deflate you.
And I had to learn that self-respect
should not be up for neglect
and mine will never be for sale
because it is part of being free.
Not every voice deserves a seat
or to eat
at my kitchen table.
Not every hand is safe just because it is able to reach
for my time,
for my energy,
for my space
for my peace.
Because some relationships I have had
were some that
just
could
not
relate.
Keep what is healthy
and release
what is toxic.
And if it costs you it all,
Still stand tall
because a relationship
without boundaries
is a
ship
that
will
surely
sink.
